Launching of Prayas at Jahangirpuri on November 14

Prayas registered as a Voluntary Organization under the Societies Registration Act

1990

Prayas celebrated 1st Annual Day at FICCI Auditorium

1992

Prayas celebrated Annual Day at Kamani Auditorium

1993

Launching of Naya Prayas project on November 14

1994

Launching of Anupam Prayas project on November 14.

1995

Launching of Prayas Health Service on June 23

1996
  • Prayas received offer from the Government of Delhi for running Juvenile Home at Delhi Gate on October 11
  • Prayas nominated to the Advisory Board of the National Commission on Women
  • Prayas co-opted a member in the Steering Committee on Child Prostitution, The National Human Rights Commission

1997

Complete transfer of Juvenile Home to Prayas on July 7 and the organization recognized as certified

1998
  • Launching of Bhatti Mines project on November 15. Our first venture in community initiated projects.
  • Launching of Astha Prayas project in East Delhi on November 20
  • Prayas recognized as one of the Five Nodal Organizations in the country to start childline service for street and working children
  • Prayas co-opted as member of the National Task Force on youth for HIV/AIDS under the UN-NACO programme
