Awareness and Advocacy Programme

An integral part of the Institute of Juvenile Justice has been actively engage itself in policy influence with state governments, central government and international governments with an aim to put children in the centre of development and governance. Prayas a member of working group on social Deviants and Caring the Other Disadvantaged A special scheme proposed by Prayas for prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of vulnerable children and other special groups like beggars and eunuchs with a total budget provision of Rs. 25 crore in the Eleventh Five Year Plan has been included in the Sub - Group report. Prayas proposed the scheme for inclusion in the Sub Group report as a member of the Sub Group on Drug Demand Reduction on "Reforming the Social Deviants and Caring the Other Disadvantaged" constituted by the Planning Commission, for formulation of strategies for the Eleventh Five Year Plan (2007-2012). We look forward that the issue of the disadvantaged groups especially the beggars and the eunuchs and the proposed scheme would be considered by the Planning Commission for making the required allocation for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of the vulnerable children and other special groups who are victims of substance (drug) abuse in the Eleventh Five Year Plan.
