Prayas Institute of Juvenile Justice (PIJJ)

The Prayas Institute of Juvenile Justice (PIJJ), a unit of Prayas JAC Society, was established in 2000 at Tughlakabad Institutional Area, New Delhi, as the apex administrative, training, and resource centre of the organization. The institute works towards strengthening child rights, juvenile justice systems, child protection mechanisms, rehabilitation, and community development initiatives across multiple states in India.


Role & Function

PIJJ functions as a national-level resource and coordination centre, supporting various projects and interventions in collaboration with government institutions, NGOs, corporate partners, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders working in the field of child protection and social development.

Research & Advocacy

PIJJ also undertakes research, documentation, advocacy, sensitization programmes, consultations, and training workshops for caregivers, professionals, institutions, and stakeholders. Through its research and documentation centre, the institute develops and disseminates resource materials and intervention manuals related to child rights and protection.
