Mr. Mukesh, Senior Manager & Superintendent of Prayas, visited Washington DC, USA for International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP)

Mukesh, Senior Manager & Superintendent of Prayas Children’s Home (Boys), Jahangirpuri, Delhi visited United States of America, to represent our country, India & the sincere efforts of Prayas JAC, which it has been doing since 34 long years. He participated in the program called International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). During the entire one week at Washington DC, he got an opportunity to overview the entire U.S governing system, its foreign policies & International Anti-Trafficking Cooperation Combating Trafficking in person at both, Federal & International level. The contribution of Prayas JAC, through the G-TIP project was also represented, which was implemented with the support of U.S Government in 2009-10, National study on child Abuse in India-2007. Apart from this, roles of Prayas in drafting "The Trafficking in Persons” (Prevention, Care and Rehabilitation) Bill 2021 in India for Trafficking survivor was also shared. The event was graced by Mr. Mark Forstrom, Deputy Senior Coordinator, Office to Monitor & Combat Trafficking in Person U.S. Department of State, Mr. Linda K. Dixon, Program Manager, Department of Defence Combating Trafficking in Persons, Program Management Office (CTIP PMO) at Defence Pantagon, Attorney U.S. Department of Labour. Participants from all across the globe were also present. It was great to share among all, how Prayas JAC has set a landmark by extending its support for Trafficked Survivors Rehabilitation by providing Educational, Vocational, Health Care, Nutrition, Counselling supports and also by providing Shelters & preventing child marriage cases throughout Bihar, Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Kashmir & South Andaman through its various interventions. He also got a chance to participate in a meeting and meet in person, Mr. John C Flores, Chief Special Agent, Human Trafficking, ICAC and Child Exploitation Group, Homeland Security Investigations. The purpose of the meeting was to understand the functioning of Homeland Security and U.S assets in combating international organizations from illegal exploitation of America's travel, trade, financial and immigration systems.
