The Business Sphere Group successfully hosted its 21st Conclave & Business Awards today in association with PRAYAS JAC Society at Hotel Crowne Plaza, Mayur Vihar, New Delhi. The event was graced by Shri Chirag Paswan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Amod K. Kanth, Founder and Mentor, Prayas, as the Guest of Honour.

Business Sphere, a leading corporate and industrial magazine currently in its 32nd year, continues its commitment to responsible and inclusive entrepreneurship. As part of the annual conclave, in-depth deliberations were held on the theme “Viksit Bharat 2047”.

Leadership Perspectives

In his introductory remarks, Mr. Kanth highlighted the importance of the occasion, noting that it was a conclave and an award function attended by distinguished MSME leaders and successful entrepreneurs. He mentioned that Business Sphere has completed 33 years, and through its 21 award functions, over 700 deserving MSME entrepreneurs have been recognized.

He congratulated Business Sphere and Mr. Deepak Khattar for sustaining such a powerful platform. He described the event as historic and emphasized its importance as a confluence of food processing with MSMEs and the voluntary sector, where Prayas represents 3.7 million organizations across India.

Stressing the importance of MSMEs, Mr. Kanth said they are the backbone of India’s economy, contributing nearly 65% of economic activity. He also welcomed the government’s ₹10,000 crore budget allocation for MSMEs and emphasized the need to integrate the agro-based food industry with the MSME sector.

Sustainable Development & Food Processing

Mr. Kanth noted that India is racing against time and highlighted the need for collective effort. He highlighted India’s improved global standing on the SDGs and emphasized key priorities, including ending hunger, promoting good health, and ensuring decent work.

Speaking on food processing, he described it as a vital sector closely linked to agriculture. He highlighted the strong growth in the sector, citing foreign direct investment of USD 7.15 billion and a rise in employment from 1.34 crore in 2014 to 2.24 crore. He also referred to the “One District, One Product” initiative, noting that Prayas operates in 45 districts focusing on products like turmeric in Samastipur and chilli in Jorhat.

Shri Chirag Paswan concluded by thanking Business Sphere and Prayas for connecting him with industry representatives. He assured stakeholders that he would make sincere efforts to address grievances and resolve issues raised by entrepreneurs.
