Prayas Janhit Swasthya Sewa Kendra – Wakro

The PHC at Arunachal Pradesh provides services to the entire neglected community in the Lohit district of the eastern part of the state. The centre is run with the aim of creating a model health care delivery system in an innovative way. Prayas knows the public Grievances and its capacity well Enough, So we the mother provider of health care service determined to Modernize the deprived health centre with: Ultra Sound Machine has installed in PHC-Wakro and facility rendering to the vast area people and patients had benefited from USG machine.

Issues covered:- The project works for the upliftment of the marginalized and neglected communities. The hilly areas of India have not seen significant improvements in its basic infrastructure. Eventually even government has not contributed much inducement towards these topographically remote areas. There has been a major lapse in the availability of basic amenities. The people from the rural part still cling to their traditional socio-economic system. Their traditional beliefs and practices continue to exist to tackle their health and hygiene.

Objective:- The aim of running the PHC is to create a model health care delivery system in the state of Arunachal, in an innovative way. Under this PHC there are three sub centers, where regular OPD services are provided.

Project in brief:- Wakro is a circle under Lohit district of Eastern part of Arunachal. Presently, Alok Prayas is running one Primary Health Center located at Wakro, having population of 9000 approx. This is a public private partnership project with Govt. of Arunachal funded by Planning Commission of India. The NGO is given entire responsibility of functioning and management of Prayas Health Center. The daily attendance ranges from 70-120 patients per day. Further the camp was organized in Namsai Community Health Centre (CHC) where the local doctors and Administration extended all logistic and moral support.

Achievements:- Wakro project has created a positive impact in the district of Lohit. It has provide basic healthcare facilities to the children.
