Summit of Civil 20 (C20) in Bali, Indonesia, being held from 5 to 7 October participated by Prayas General Secretary Mr. Amod Kanth

In a momentous post-Covid-19 event at the final Summit of Civil 20 (C20) in Bali, Indonesia, being held from 5 to 7 October, India formally takes over the presidency of C20 from Indonesia for the 2023 Summit. Mr Amod Kanth, General Secretary of Prayas JAC society and Board Member, VANI (Voluntary Action Network India) as part of the Indian Delegation participated as a global civil society representative.

C-20 (Civil20) is one of the most important Engagement Groups of G20 to facilitate the participation of Global Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and deliberations on priority issues like protecting the weak and vulnerable (SDGs) and expanding civic spaces while building and strengthening partnerships with government and civil society. Highly informative and interesting discussions took place during the course of the event with experts, experienced Civil Society Organisations and other stakeholders, drawn from 65 countries. They were highly impressed by the experience of Prayas and allied organisations and other leading organisations from India and VANI during the formal and informal discussions. The vastness and versatility of Prayas inspired other organisations and stakeholders.

Mr Kanth represented Prayas and enriched the discussion in the Working Group of Digitalisation, Education and Civic Space (EDCSWG) and others like Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) & Humanitarian Working Group where he had the opportunity to participate. The Civil Society of India held a discussion with India's Ambassador to Indonesia, Mr Manoj Kumar Bharti who also addressed the summit.
