Children’s Hope Prayas Project — Anand Parvat, Delhi
The Children’s Hope Prayas Project at Anand Parvat, Delhi, began in 1994 as Anupam Prayas with the aim of supporting marginalized children and families living in and around Kathputli Colony. Initially supported by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the initiative gradually expanded its outreach through education, healthcare, vocational training, and community development programmes.
Background
In 2004, the project was renamed in collaboration with the US-based organization Children’s Hope and adopted a holistic “Cradle to Career” approach focused on the long-term development of children and communities.

Alternative Education
The project established Alternative Education Centres for children who had dropped out or never attended school, helping them continue education in a supportive learning environment.

Regular health check-ups, awareness sessions, counselling support, and outreach activities continue to strengthen school participation, emotional well-being, and overall development of vulnerable children and families within the community.
