Dweep Prayas Project — Andaman & Nicobar Islands
Dweep Prayas, the Andaman chapter of Prayas JAC Society, has been working for the protection and empowerment of vulnerable communities in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands since January 2005. Over the years, the initiative has focused on child protection, education, community awareness, rehabilitation, health, and psychosocial support across the islands.
Outreach & Awareness
The project conducts awareness and outreach programmes in schools, colleges, institutions, and communities to promote child rights, protection, mental well-being, and social awareness.

Areas Covered
Awareness programmes were conducted across South Andaman, Swaraj Dweep, Shaheed Dweep, and Little Andaman, covering issues related to child protection, workplace safety, mental health, and self-awareness.
24×7 Helpline
Prayas launched a dedicated 24×7 helpline (03192-253100) in South Andaman to support children and individuals facing abuse, trafficking, child labour, exploitation, stress, anxiety, and emotional distress through counselling, guidance, crisis intervention, and referral support services.
