District Magistrate, Jamui visit along with General Secretary, Prayas at District office, Jamui, Bihar

Shri Amod K. Kanth, General Secretary, Prayas visited Jamui, one of the aspirational districts of Bihar. During a day long visit, he had a meeting with Mr. Avaneesh Kumar Singh, District Magistrate (DM) Jamui and Dr. Shaurya Suman (SP) at their Chambers. Mr. Kanth was accompanied by Mr. Anshuman from JSS Jamui and Mr. Jitendra and Mr Dheeraj from Prayas. Mr Kanth had a very fruitful discussion with the DM regarding the activities carried out by Prayas and how the same can be replicated in Jamui. The DM was happy to share that the skill training programs are the need of the youth of Jamui. The DM was appreciative of the activities conducted by Jan Shikshan Sansthan Jamui and offered to associate himself along with other department people like from ITI, Education, Police and others. He expressed his desire to immediately visit the JSS Jamui and chalk out a plan to maximise the benefit of the JSS scheme in remote naxal effected areas as well. Mr. Kanth shared about the importance and need of skill, particularly with the implementation of new education policy. Mr. Kanth emphasised that we also need to look into starting some skill development programs in the school and also for the Prisoners. The district magistrate ensured all possible help to the team of Jain Shikshan Sansthan Jamui. During the meeting with Dr. Shaurya Suman, the superintendent of Police (SP), he shared the purpose of his visit and asked the SP to engage himself in Prayas activities. He informed about his meeting with the DM and the discussions held related to organising skill development training programs in naxal effective areas. The SP too extended all possible support in organising training programs and suggested that initially it can be started in two areas. The SP shared that he will also ensure the support of the police officials in organizing the training program. The SP desired that Police officers may also be invited during organisation events and in meetings as they are an important part of the civil society. The SP shared that he would love to associate himself with Prayas activities and shared that he being a Doctor would like to organise a Health camp with the support of Prayas team members. The DM and the SP, both were appreciative of Prayas effort in reaching out to marginalised sections of the society and both of them expressed their willingness to contribute to the development cause of the organisation.
